Thank you for considering us to help you with your next remodel! The design process doesn’t need to be complicated and expensive, and construction doesn’t have to be stressful and disruptive. We’re committed to making the process simple, fun, and a great value, and this is how we do it:
Mill City Design + Build is owned and run by Brian Noy and Matt Schafer - Brian does the design work, modeling, bidding, project accounting, and some project management, and Matt is the primary project manager, overseeing our seven in-field employees (demolition, concrete, framing, flooring, finish work, tiling and painting) and trade partners (electricians, HVAC, plumbers, dry wallers). It’s a simple company doing outstanding work, with Brian and Matt doing all the design and management work and in communication the entire process, and our builders on-site, often consulting directly with you to make sure you’re getting exactly what you want. We’ve tried to eliminate the overhead and confusion that’s typical in the industry, and if you look at our reviews, our happy customers can tell you it’s working. Process
Click on the Process link to see how we start the project. Some Design + Build companies and architects will spend thousands of dollars of design work figuring out all the details before bringing in sub-contractors and giving you a final price, which may not even be close to within your budget. We feel that most of the major design decisions affecting the cost for most remodels can be worked out in the first 2 hour meeting at your home and a couple emails. After that we can give a firm bid with a price given a clear scope, with extreme detail and transparency, so you can decide if you want to move forward with us. Then we take the time to make all the necessary decisions.
